Located in Lancashire, England, the market town lies in the coastal region named the Fylde. According to the 2011 census, Poulton has a population of approximately 18,495, which is more than double of the population recorded in the census of 1951 (which was 7,676).

There are many significant individuals who have lived in Poulton but the most famous is probably ventriloquist Keith Harris. His children actually attended the local schools and they still take up residence nearby too.
